Winning UK is operated by Zoe Stimpson. Zoe Stimpson is the data controller for personal information collected directly through this website.

Information you send to Winning UK

If you use our contact or competition-submission forms, we receive the details you enter so we can review the request, respond where appropriate and maintain the relevant listing. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Newsletter signups are handled through the newsletter provider identified on the signup form. Competition entry takes place on the organiser’s website, under that organiser’s privacy information, not on Winning UK.

Why we use information and who receives it

We use contact details and messages to answer enquiries, review competition submissions, maintain accurate listings, handle correction or removal requests, prevent misuse and administer commercial discussions. This processing is needed to respond to your request and for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the directory.

Where you choose to receive a newsletter, the newsletter provider processes your signup and preferences with your consent. You can withdraw that consent by unsubscribing.

Information may be handled by service providers needed to operate the website, email, hosting, security, newsletter and advertising services. We do not sell personal information. Competition organisers receive information you submit on their own websites, not through Winning UK.

How long we keep information

• General contact messages are normally deleted within 12 months after the enquiry is resolved.
• Competition-submission contact details are normally kept while the submission or listing is being reviewed or remains active, then deleted within 24 months of the last relevant action.
• Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. The newsletter provider may retain the minimum information needed to record and respect an unsubscribe request.
• Records may be kept longer where reasonably needed to handle a complaint, establish what was agreed, prevent misuse or meet a legal obligation.

We review retained information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Use our contact form to make a request.

If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Advertising and measurement

Winning UK may use Google AdSense to display and measure advertising. If you consent to optional advertising cookies, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, device information, IP address, browser information and interactions with this site to deliver, measure and, where selected, personalise adverts.

If you reject optional cookies, advertising storage, advertising personalisation and analytics storage remain denied through Google Consent Mode. Google may still process limited information needed to deliver non-personalised or contextual advertising, prevent fraud and maintain security, subject to its policies and the choices available through our consent management platform.

My Competitions tracker

If you use My Competitions or the Competition Tools, Winning UK stores the records you create in your browser’s local storage. These can include competition IDs, saved and entered choices, private notes, personal costs, budget entries, wins and claim dates. This is needed to provide the tools you request. The information remains on your device, is not linked to an account and is not used for advertising or analytics.

You can remove individual records using the relevant controls, use Clear my tracker on the My Competitions page, export a tracker backup, or clear this site’s stored data in your browser. These records do not automatically transfer between browsers or devices.
